Frankford Business group announces holiday events

The Frankford Business and Professional Association is looking for more members and also has some holiday events coming up.

The goal of the organization is to boost Frankford for residents and businesses, Diane Richardson, president, said during the group’s Oct. 28 meeting. Dues are $60 annually. FBPA members meet every other month in lunchtime sessions. For more information, call Monica Parrilla at 215–743–6580.

The association and the Frankford Community Development Corporation currently are conducting a food drive for the needy. Donations of nonperishable foods can be dropped off at the CDC, 4900 Griscom St., during regular business hours, Parrilla said. The food collected will be distributed to the neighborhood’s needy families on Nov. 22.

There will be a Christmas tree lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. on Dec. 5 at Frankford Avenue and Pratt Street, in front of the Holiday Thriftway. The next day at the same location, there will be a “Winter Bazaar” from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Vendors can sign up for the event by Nov. 17 by contacting Nafisah Lewis at [email protected]

Cost is $30 per table. ••
