Triple shooting in Frankford

Three young men were shot Sunday night on the 4700 block of Penn Street in Frankford.

Police said one of the victims reported he and the others were on a porch on that block shortly before 9 p.m. Sunday when a black man wearing black clothing suddenly appeared and started firing at them with a .45-caliber handgun.

The man, who was unknown to the victims, fled after firing his weapon. He remains at large, police said.

One victim, 26, was was shot in the back and also was grazed by a bullet, police said. He was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center. The second victim, 24, was shot in the back and buttocks, police said, and was taken to Aria Health’s nearby Frankford campus. The third, 25, was shot in both legs, his right thigh and groin, police said, and was taken to Einstein. ••
