NORC members receive flu shots, pressure screenings

Members of the Rhawnhurst Naturally Occurring Retirement Community received flu shots from Rite Aid, energy-saving light bulbs from PECO Energy and blood pressure screenings from an Immaculate Mary Home nurse at their most recent meeting.

In addition, Katherine Weiss spoke on behalf of the Philadelphia Corporation for Aging about health insurance issues.

The Rhawnhurst NORC will meet again on Thursday, Dec. 18, at noon at Ner Zedek Synagogue, 7520 Bustleton Ave. The guest speaker will be Alicia Nette, a trainer and community support specialist with Philadelphia Town Watch. Lunch costs $5.

The Jan. 29 meeting will take place at Rhawnhurst Presbyterian Church, 7701 Loretto Ave. The guest speaker will be Dawn Menya, state director of Addus HomeCare. ••
