Head of the class: Students recently graduated from a Leadership Development Program sponsored by the Greater Northeast Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce. The program is aimed at building leadership skills and knowledge and enriching communication, networking and relationship building.
Nine people have been learning how to enhance their leadership skills and relationship building during a yearlong Leadership Development Program sponsored by the Greater Northeast Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce.
Collette McBratney has been guiding the group — engineers, bank employees, a market, a medical facility and the Philadelphia Parking Authority — one morning a month from January to December this year.
The program’s top two concepts, she said, are building leadership skills and knowledge and enriching communication, networking and relationship building. Participants meet other business leaders during the year, McBratney added.
Success, she said, requires teamwork, and it is the leaders who show team members how to live up to their potentials.
The course, held at Holy Family University’s Woodhaven campus, costs $1,995 for the year. Participants earn five continuing education credits, McBratney said.
The program is 10 years old, and it’s time right now to sign up for the 2015 course, she said.
