Senior man still missing

Missing: Vito Maglio was last seen in Bustleton on Dec. 14.

Relatives and police are still searching for a senior man from Bustleton who disappeared more than a week ago after leaving a neighborhood restaurant.

Vito Maglio, 69, of the 2000 block of Gorman St., was last seen at about 6 p.m. on Dec. 14 after he left Macaroni’s Restaurant, at 9315 Old Bustleton Ave. A friend reportedly spotted Maglio driving on Castor Avenue, a short distance from the restaurant in the opposite direction from Maglio’s home. Police found the unoccupied SUV parked on an East Germantown street on Thursday. It had been set on fire. But there was no sign of Maglio.

Maglio regularly visited Macaroni’s and was wearing a black suit jacket, black pants and black shoes on Dec. 14. He was described as white, 5 feet 5 inches tall and 150 pounds with short gray hair and brown eyes. He reportedly is diabetic and requires medication.
