‘Senior lunch and learn’ event Jan. 29

The Rhawnhurst Naturally Occurring Retirement Community will host “senior lunch and learn” at noon Jan. 29 at the Rhawnhurst Presbyterian Church, 7701 Loretto Ave.

Event for preschoolers at Holmesburg Library

Holmesburg Library, 7810 Frankford Ave. (at Hartel Avenue), invites preschool children to enjoy stories, songs and finger plays on Tuesday, Jan. 27, at 10:30 a.m.

All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Loudenslager baseball holding fundraiser

The Corp. John Loudenslager American Legion Post 366 baseball team will hold its annual fundraiser on Sunday, Jan. 25, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the post, 7976 Oxford Ave. in Fox Chase.

The Phillie Phanatic will make an appearance. The guest speaker will be Junior American Legion baseball coach Mike Reardon.

Tickets cost $25, or $5 for kids under 12. There will be food, beverages and auction prizes. ••

‘Brave New World’ screening is Jan. 28

The Northeast Regional Library, 2228 Cottman Ave., will screen Brave New World at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 28. Librarian Keith Kessler will lead a discussion of the book by Aldous Huxley at 3 p.m.

Holocaust museum sponsoring two events

The Holocaust Awareness Museum and Education Center is teaming with the Fusion Center to present The Holocaust Project on Thursday, Jan. 22, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Fusion Center, 116 Stanhope St. in Princeton, New Jersey. The guest speaker will be Holocaust survivor Joe Kahn.

The museum is also partnering with Congregation Beth Hamedrosh, 200 Haverford Road in Wynnewood, for a showing of the film The Lady in Number 6 on Sunday, Jan. 25, at 7 p.m. The cost is $5.

After the film, Holocaust survivor Ernie Gross and World War II veteran and Dachau concentration camp liberator Don Greenbaum will share their stories.

North Catholic wrestling reunion

A North Catholic wrestling reunion will take place on Saturday, Jan. 31, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Post Office Cafe, 2696 Bridge St. in Bridesburg. Tickets cost $30 and will include food and an open bar.

Joel DeJesus, class of 1994, will be inducted into the North Catholic Wrestling Hall of Fame.

Proceeds will benefit any Catholic League city wrestler who qualifies for the PIAA championships.

Hair Cuttery aiding the homeless

Hair Cuttery will sponsor its Share a Haircut program on Feb. 2–3. For every haircut purchased, a free haircut certificate will be donated back to a homeless person local to one of Hair Cuttery’s 900 salons.
