Two hooded and masked men held up a McDonald’s restaurant in Rhawnhurst on Dec. 11.
Police hope that someone will identify the unknown robbers from surveillance video, which has been posted to the Philadelphia Police channel on YouTube.com.
The heist occurred at about 4:15 p.m. at 7613 Castor Ave. One of the crooks forced employees to the rear of the business at gunpoint, while the other stayed at the front counter to watch a patron and act as a lookout. In the back office, the gunman forced a manager to empty cash from a safe into a black bookbag. The robbers fled with an undisclosed amount of cash and were last seen running eastbound on Glendale Street, then between houses toward a driveway.
The gunman was described as black or Hispanic with light skin, in his late teens or early 20s, 5 feet 6 inches tall and thin. He wore a black puffy jacket, black cargo pants, black Timberland boots and red and green Gucci belt. The other robber was described as black or Hispanic with light skin, in his late teens or early 20s, with a gray scarf over his face.
