The office was impressed with Masluk’s involvement with the school during the Middle States Commission’s evaluation.

Among other things, Masluk teaches a Latin class and greets the students as they arrive each day.

Sister Edward William Quinn, IHM, the office’s director of elementary curriculum, instruction and staff development, nominated Masluk.

She and Chris Mominey, the office’s chief operating officer and secretary of Catholic education, presented Masluk with the commendation at a Mass on Jan. 25, the start of Catholic Schools Week.

The 230 students at the school signed their names on a gigantic banner, which featured two pictures of Masluk’s favorite animated character, Mickey Mouse.

Masluk has been pastor at St. Martha, 11301 Academy Road, for more than 12 years. ••
