Surveillance photo

An unidentified man went to a Frankford convenience store on Jan. 28 to make a cash withdrawal, but he didn’t use the ATM. Instead, he took money from the cash register.

The holdup occurred at about 4:20 a.m. at 7-Eleven, 5028 Frankford Ave., when the robber approached the sales clerk — a 49-year-old man — pushed him and reached into the cash drawer. The robber grabbed an undisclosed amount of currency and ran. He was last seen heading southbound on Frankford Avenue. The employee was not injured.

The robber was described as black, 40 years old, 5 feet 7 inches tall and stocky with a beard, a black skull cap, a dark hoodie and blue jeans. Visit the Philadelphia Police channel on YouTube.com to see surveillance video. Call 215–686-TIPS or text to PPD TIP to report information. ••
