Sweet Samuel
Samuel is a 3- to 5-year-old pit bull mix who came to Philadelphia’s Animal Care and Control, at 111 W. Hunting Park Ave., as a skinny stray. His tag number is 24950035.
Samuel is an energetic boy with sad eyes and a smushy little face who likes to run, play and get kisses.
Adoption hours are weekdays from 1 to 8 p.m. and weekends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.••
Lola is lovely
Lola is a very sweet girl 5-year-old who was rescued from animal control and is in foster care via Northeast Animal Rescue. She had suffered a severe upper respiratory infection that caused permanent painful damage to her eyes, necessitating their removal.
The residual effects of the infection also cause her to sound like she is always softly snoring, even when she is awake. Despite her previous hardships, Lola has recovered well from her surgery, and she navigates her foster home very well, even without the sense of sight. She gets along well with other cats, and would love a lap of her own to sleep on, or a sunny windowsill to rest in and listen to the birds outside.
Lola is spayed and current on vaccinations, and has tested negative for the feline immunodeficiency leukemia viruses.
