A resident and a firefighter were hospitalized as a result of a devastating home fire in the Northeast’s Chalfont section early Monday.
The emergency call went out at 1:37 a.m. for 3571 Brookview Road, the Philadelphia Fire Department said. The rowhouse is a two-story brick end unit. The first fire company arrived at 1:42. The fire was declared under control 61 minutes later.
The fire department confirmed that one firefighter and one civilian male were each taken to Aria Health’s Torresdale Campus in stable condition.
The firefighter was reportedly treated for heat exhaustion and the resident for smoke inhalation. Two adults and two children were reportedly displaced by the blaze. According to Philadelphia police, at least five homes were evacuated. ••
