A crew of burglars brazenly broke into two Northeast pharmacies in the early morning of March 25.
The crooks tripped alarms at both locations, but were able to flee before officers arrived. Surveillance equipment at both pharmacies recorded the crimes in progress.
At 12:05 a.m., two unknown men in a white pickup truck arrived at Philly Pharmacy, 9475 Roosevelt Blvd., and stopped by the front door. A passenger exited the truck and used a tool to cut a lock from the front door. The suspects then left the area. About three hours later, a silver SUV with tinted windows arrived at the same spot. Three men exited that vehicle, entered the pharmacy, filled boxes with various medications and fled in an unknown direction. Police believe a fourth accomplice remained inside the SUV and served as the driver.
About an hour later, the same silver SUV arrived at Academy Pharmacy, 10101 Academy Road. Once again, three suspects exited the vehicle, entered the business, stole various medications and fled the area in the SUV.
The burglarsâ appearances were indistinct on the videos and obscured by clothing. The white truck seen at the initial crime scene appeared to be a newer model Ford F350 King Ranch with a quad-cab and sunroof. Visit the Philadelphia Police channel on Facebook.com to see the video.
