The Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission is accepting entries into the Pennsylvania Modern Architecture Juried Photo Exhibit, which will run from Oct. 25 through Feb. 28 at The State Museum of Pennsylvania.
From now through midnight June 30, PHMC will accept submissions of photographs that display examples of mid-20th century architecture constructed in Pennsylvania between 1930 and ’80. Entries may depict exteriors, interiors and/or details of roadside architecture, schools, religious buildings, homes, commercial buildings and recreational structures and other modern elements. Photos must have been taken in Pennsylvania on or after Jan. 1, 2012.
Participation is open to Pennsylvania residents ages 18 and older. All photography skill levels are welcome to enter. Submissions will be accepted digitally. The entry form, rules, fee information, deadlines and instructions are available at statemuseumpa.org/photo-exhibit.
The exhibition coincides with the 50th anniversary of The State Museum and Archives Complex, which was recently listed in the National Register of Historic Places, commemorating its architectural treasure and its furnishings and designs typical of mid-century Modernist style. ••
