Supermarket employees robbed in parking lot

Two armed robbers held up a couple of Mayfair Shop n Bag employees as the workers were on the way to make a cash deposit at a neighboring bank on Sunday morning, police say.

The crime occurred in the parking lot of the shopping center at Frankford Avenue and Hellerman Street where the supermarket and Wells Fargo branch are each located, said Lt. Dennis Rosenbaum of Northeast Detectives.

The robbers approached the victims on foot at about 9:45 a.m., pointed a gun and demanded money. They fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, running northbound on Frankford then eastbound on Hellerman. No injuries were reported.

One suspect was black, 18 to 24 years old, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and about 170 pounds. He wore a red and white hoodie and carried a gun. The other suspect was black, 18 to 24 years old, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and about 160 pounds. He wore a black hoodie. Call 215–686–3153 to report information about the case. ••
