NE Times sports banquet falls on May 20

On May 20, the Northeast Times will celebrate its 30th annual Sports Awards Banquet at Cannstatter’s (9130 Academy Road). In next week’s edition, the paper will publish a special banquet pullout section highlighting in detail all of this year’s winners.

Below is a complete list of the award winners, who have been chosen by the Times sports department in affiliation with the local schools:

Football Coach of the Year: Bill Harrigan, Samuel Fels

Public League Football Player of the Year: Shareef Miller, George Washington

Catholic League Football Player of the Year: Samir Bullock, Archbishop Ryan

Boys Soccer Coach of the Year: Kraig Feldman, Northeast

Public League Boys Soccer Player of the Year: Abraham Kamara, Northeast

Catholic League Boys Soccer Player of the Year: Mark Pohl, Father Judge

Girls Soccer Coach of the Year: Ryan Haney, Archbishop Ryan

Public League Girls Soccer Player of the Year: Devon Keller, Franklin Towne Charter

Catholic League Girls Soccer Player of the Year: Jazmin Gonzalez, Archbishop Ryan

Boys Basketball Coach of the Year: Sean Riley, Tacony Charter

Girls Basketball Coach of the Year: Mike McCusker, Archbishop Ryan

Baseball Coach of the Year: Shawn Williams, Swenson

Softball Coach of the Year: Dan Milio, Little Flower

Holy Family University Male Athlete of the Year: Shane King, track and field

Holy Family University Female Athlete of the Year: Kimber Kisselback, soccer and lacrosse

Most Courageous Athlete Award: Glenn Shapley, Northeast

Sportsmanship Award: Kim Tran, Abraham Lincoln

Unsung Hero Award: Emily Shellenberger, Little Flower

Northeast Philadelphian Award: Paul Dooley, Springside Chestnut Hill Academy

Female Scholar Athlete of the Year: Tamara Jennings, Nazareth Academy

Male Scholar Athlete of the Year: Pete Blumenstein, Father Judge
