St. Martin scores big: A new scoreboard was unveiled at the St. Martin of Tours gymnasium on May 19. The Danny Craige Foundation provided funding for the project.
The Danny Craige Foundation provided the funding for a new scoreboard at the St. Martin of Tours gymnasium.
The scoreboard was unveiled during a May 19 boys basketball game between St. Martin’s and St. Bede the Venerable, of Holland, Bucks County.
Danny Craige was a St. Martin’s graduate, class of 1964, who died of esophageal cancer in 2006 at age 56. He was a long-time coach, including stints directing foot-ball teams at Frankford Boys Club and basketball teams at St. Martin’s.
Craige’s family and the St. Bede CYO created the foundation in his memory.
Over the years, the foundation has contributed scholarship money for selected St. Martin’s graduating eighth-graders, along with other grads still in high school.
The foundation has also donated scholarship money to graduates of St. Bede, La Salle Academy and St. Katharine Drexel.
The foundation will hold a golf fundraiser on Sept. 14 at North Hills Country Club in Glenside.
Donations can be sent to The Danny Craige Foundation, 66 Green Drive, Churchville, PA 18966.
