A guy who allegedly robbed a Mayfair convenience store on June 3 could probably use some lessons on risk and reward.
After buying a pack of cigarettes from 7-Eleven at 2900 Cottman Ave., he tried to swipe a few shots of 5-hour Energy, only to pull a knife on an employee and place himself in jeopardy of some serious jail time.
The hold-up occurred at about 3 p.m. After buying smokes, which typically cost $8 or more per pack in the city, the guy went to the back of the store, picked up a handful of 5-hour Energy containers and tried to leave. The energy shots typically cost a few bucks apiece.
After threatening the clerk with a knife, the robber exited through a rear door and fled south on Brous Avenue. He was described as white, 28 years old, 180 pounds, with a black baseball cap, a black jacket with white printing, black shirt with white printing, black pants and white headphones.
