Comedian Joe Conklin, known as “The man of 1,000 voices,” is returning as the comic headliner of the final Stu Bykofsky Candidates’ Comedy Night.
This is the 25th and final year the show will be staged by Daily News columnist Stu Bykofsky, who originated the show in 1991 and has been the host and producer since then.
This year’s show is set for Tuesday, Aug. 11, starting at 8 p.m., at Galdo’s, 20th Street and Moyamensing Avenue in South Philadelphia.
Conklin is best known as the head comic on Sportsradio 94WIP, with Angelo Cataldi and the morning team.
Invited candidates this year are mayoral candidates Melissa Murray Bailey and Jim Kenney; Sheriff Jewell Williams and challenger Christopher Sawyer; City Council at-large members Bill Greenlee, Blondell Reynolds Brown, David Oh and Dennis O’Brien and challengers Derek Green, Allan Domb, Helen Gym, Terry Tracy, Dan Tinney and Al Taubenberger.

Democratic mayoral nominee Jim Kenney released a statement on the state budget, which was due on June 30.
Gov. Tom Wolf vetoed a budget passed by the Republican majority.
“Just two weeks ago, a bipartisan commission organized by Gov. Wolf proposed a fair solution to the education funding crisis that has left our state open to so much national criticism. It was a proud moment of compromise for Pennsylvania and one that I know we can achieve again through budget negotiations. Now that each side has presented their ideal budgets for the record, it is time to set ideologies aside and work toward the common goal of providing every Pennsylvania child with a quality education and a full, fair funding formula.”
