Man shot, critically wounded in Lower NE

A quarrel between two acquaintances in the Hill Creek Apartments public housing complex in the Lower Northeast escalated into a shooting that left one man wounded critically last Friday.

The gunfire erupted at about 9:50 p.m. on the 500 block of W. Hillcreek Drive. Police found the victim, 44, with multiple wounds, including at least one of the face. He was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center in critical condition. Authorities did not release his identity.

A witness told investigators that he and the victim knew the shooter, who used a black handgun in the shooting and fled toward Adams Avenue. Police did not release the suspect’s name and supplied a generic description: black male, light skin, six feet tall and thin build. ••
