Philadelphia Fire Department receives grants

U.S. Sen. Bob Casey announced on July 9 that the Federal Emergency Management Agency under the Department of Homeland Security has awarded $141,047 in grants to the Philadelphia Fire Department for operations and safety.

“Pennsylvania’s firefighters endure risk and sacrifice every day to keep their community safe,” Casey said. “This money will help provide Philadelphia’s firefighters with the resources they need to ensure their safety and the safety of those they serve.”

Funds are awarded through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant program, which aims to strengthen the health and safety of the nation’s first responders and those they serve. ••
