Home invaders shoot Holmesburg man

A Holmesburg man was hospitalized in critical condition after two men invaded his home and shot him early Monday, police say.

Shortly before 5 a.m., the 32-year-old victim was at home, on the 4700 block of Oakmont St., when someone kicked in his back door. The resident fought the men, one of whom shot him in the left shoulder, police said. The intruders fled.

The victim was taken to Aria Health’s Torresdale hospital in critical condition. Detectives were still trying to interview him on Tuesday. Police have not issued specific descriptions of the suspects. ••
