Police baseball game is Aug. 28

The Philadelphia Blue Sox police baseball team has a score to settle and it’s for a great cause when they take on the New York Finest team on Friday, Aug. 28, at the Trenton Thunder’s Arm & Hammer Park. The game will raise funds for the Fraternal Order of Police Survivors Fund.

Gates open at 6 p.m. with the first pitch slated for 7. A fireworks show will follow the game.

“We want to do something special for the families of the fallen officers,” said Ofc. Billy Killian, founder and general manager of the Blue Sox.

Arm & Hammer Park is at 1 Thunder Road on the Trenton waterfront. It’s a 25-minute drive from FOP Lodge 5. Tickets are available at the stadium and at the Lodge 5 office, 11630 Caroline Road. Visit philapolicebluesox.com or call 267–688–7212 for information. ••

Bowlers needed for league

Resurrection Bowling League is looking for male and female bowlers, individuals and teams.

Each team will consist of four bowlers.

The league bowls on Tuesday nights at 8:30. League play begins Tuesday, Sept. 8. Anyone interested in bowling can call Joe Gessner, 215–725–3556, or Kathy Pearce, 215–802–6912. ••

Senior bowlers sought

Pennypack Senior Bowling League needs bowlers. Bowling will take place Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. at Thunderbird Lanes on Holme Avenue.

Sabres looking for players

The Academy Sabres Fall Wooden Bat Baseball League is looking for teams in the following age groups: 9/10, 11/12, 15/16. Soccer registration

Mayfair A.C. will hold registration for soccer on Aug. 22 and 28, from 10 to 11 a.m., at its clubhouse at 7374 Edmund St. The in-house program is for kids ages 3–6. The cost is $45.
