The graffiti and related damage was discovered at about 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 15 at 13049 Kelvin Ave. and had happened sometime during the previous night. Several pieces of playground equipment had been marred with paint. The culprit had broken into a storage shed and removed containers of paint that were used to further deface the property.

Detectives obtained surveillance video that showed someone committing the crimes at about 10 p.m. the previous night. The investigators released the video publicly and obtained tips about the identity of the suspect.

On Sept. 29, police arrested Nicholas Holland, 19, at his home on the 1700 block of Nathaniel Road, charging him with conspiracy, burglary, trespassing, mischief, vandalism and related offenses. ••
