Elderly man held at knifepoint in Somerton

Two robbers in their 20s broke into the home of a 79-year-old Somerton man, held a knife to the victim’s throat and stole cash and jewelry from the home on Oct. 9, Philadelphia police say.

Surveillance cameras recorded the unidentified thugs prior to the home invasion as they walked westbound on Tomlinson Road approaching the victim’s house on the 11000 block of Philmont Terrace.

At about 2:50 p.m., the crooks broke open the front door and struggled with the senior resident while demanding his money. The robbers were last seen fleeing eastbound on Tomlinson Road. The victim suffered bruises to his right arm and left hand.

One robber was described as a white man, 20 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 200 pounds with an average build, brown hair, beard, a black bandanna, black hoodie, dark shirt, camouflage pants, black Nike sneakers and a knife. His accomplice was described as white, in his early 20s, 6 feet tall, 200 pounds with an average build, brown hair, a black hoodie, blue jeans and brown boots.
