Police did not disclose a suspected motive, but described the unidentified shooter as a black man, 5 feet 3 inches tall and 200 pounds. He was last seen running northbound on Charles Street, then east on Howell Street.

A second murder occurred one day later at about 9:17 p.m. on the 7100 block of Walker St. Police arrived at the scene to find Daquan Medina, 24, in a rear driveway with wounds of the face and chest. Medina, of the 4700 block of Marple St., died at the scene.
