Philadelphia police have released the names of two men who died in unrelated shootings in the Northeast earlier this month.
Anthony Lewis, 34, of the 5900 block of Charles St. in Wissinoming, perished on Oct. 20 after police found him lying in the grass in Wissinoming Park with multiple upper body wounds. Police were called to the 5800 block of Charles at about 10:44 a.m. and found Lewis lying face up. Paramedics took him to Aria Health’s Torresdale hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:21 a.m.
Police did not disclose a suspected motive, but described the unidentified shooter as a black man, 5 feet 3 inches tall and 200 pounds. He was last seen running northbound on Charles Street, then east on Howell Street.
A second murder occurred one day later at about 9:17 p.m. on the 7100 block of Walker St. Police arrived at the scene to find Daquan Medina, 24, in a rear driveway with wounds of the face and chest. Medina, of the 4700 block of Marple St., died at the scene.
Police did not disclose a suspected motive and had no descriptions for three unidentified offenders who fled in a dark SUV.
