Teen critically injured in Holmesburg shooting

An argument in a driveway behind a Holmesburg pizza parlor sparked a shooting that left a 17-year-old boy in critical condition on Thanksgiving eve.

Witnesses have told investigators that an altercation between youths on the 4700 block of Oakmont St. escalated at about 6:20 p.m. when a relative of one of the kids showed up with a gun, police said. Shots were fired. The wounded teen, whose name has not been released, was taken by a private vehicle to Nazareth Hospital with a single wound of the stomach. He was later airlifted to Temple University Hospital and upgraded to serious but stable condition.

Officially, the identity of the gunman is unknown. Police continue to interview witnesses. ••
