Still no arrest one year after fatal hit-and-run

It’s been more than a year since a South Philadelphia woman was struck and killed by a truck in front of the city’s prison complex in Holmesburg, but the hit-and-run motorist remains unknown to authorities.

The accident occurred on Dec. 23, 2014, at about 5:20 p.m. on the 8100 block of State Road. Theresa Pozzi, 33, of the 600 block of Kimball St., was crossing the street on foot when a northbound truck, possibly black in color, struck her and fled the scene. Pozzi was pronounced dead at Aria Health’s Torresdale campus about an hour later.

A surveillance camera recorded the truck, but the video is not clear. It has been described as a pickup or tow truck, possibly from the late 1980s or early ’90s model years. Call police at 215–685–3180 to report information. ••
