Woman slashed with broken bottle at NE bar

A woman is lucky to be alive after an altercation at a Mayfair bar left her with a slashed throat early on Valentine’s Day.

Police did not identify the 37-year-old victim, who told investigators that she was dancing inside of Fiddler’s Green on the 7300 block of Frankford Ave. at about 1:45 a.m., Feb. 14, when another woman broke a bottle over her head then used the shattered glass to slice open her face and neck. The victim suffered severe cuts and was rushed to Aria Health’s Torresdale campus in critical condition. She underwent emergency surgery.

The victim was able to tell police that she knows the identity of her attacker, who has not been arrested. Police said the suspect is 21 years old. Police did not disclose a suspected motive. ••
