Solomon has a vision

I have lived in Lawncrest my entire life. I attended St. Williams, as did my younger siblings. As young kids, my siblings and I would walk to and from school and ride our bikes all around the neighborhood.

Today, at 28 years old, I don’t feel comfortable walking my dog by myself after dark. Lawncrest, along with the rest of the Northeast, has changed over the past couple decades and it is clear that we are not moving in the right direction.

I first met Jared Solomon at a community dinner back in 2014. I was amazed to hear about all Jared had done through his community group, Take Back Your Neighborhood. What really grabbed my attention was all of Jared’s innovative ideas for getting our community back on the right track.

After hearing Jared’s impassioned speech, I knew I had to help out. I signed up to volunteer that night. I am not the only one that has been moved by Jared’s words — at almost every event that he has held, I have helped sign up new volunteers. People are not only drawn to Jared’s exciting vision for the 202nd Legislative District, but to the humble, grassroots candidate who knocks doors no matter the weather, listens to the concerns of the people and most importantly, gets things done.

Volunteering on a campaign is by no means easy work, but I know that Jared Solomon is someone we can believe in. Jared Solomon is someone who will jump-start our community and drive it forward.

Cohen has experience

Believe in Mark Cohen.

He is the right choice. His knowledge, his background and his record say it all.

A family man and a community man, Mark always takes time when people need answers.

A man of great integrity, a man with strong convictions, a great state representative, 42 years in office — the list is endless.

Doesn’t that say a lot? Mark doesn’t miss a beat. Sometimes, change is good. Sometimes, experience wins out. Believe in Mark Cohen. He is the right choice.

Keep community clean

In response to Donna DiDonato about cleaning up Somerton, I do agree about the disgusting conditions of our streets, not only in Somerton, but I also see it along Castor Avenue along the storefronts and the post office near Bushrod Library.

The problem is not us, the homeowners, who don’t clean up. I am constantly picking up litter of vodka bottles and trash. But it’s the ignorant people who don’t care about our community. It’s either the driver out the window or a walker flinging the wrapper.

Why not just let the trash pile up and let every passerby see the mound of litter?

Do you think the citizens of Philadelphia will have any conscience of their wrongdoing?

Again, the blame is not the person not picking up the trash, it’s the person throwing it.

What do you do about it?

It’s time to resurrect the crying Indiana chief Iron Eyes Cody of the 1970s’ “Keep America Beautiful” campaign.

Our cities are a terrible thing to waste.

Is Cruz eligible to run?

I will preface this by stating I do not have a political affiliation. In fact, I think we need “None of the Above” as a ballot selection.

The question we all need to ask Ted Cruz is does he meet the Constitutional definition of a natural born citizen? You can be a senator but not the president if you do not meet the definition. In my reading of it, I do not think he qualifies.

I can assure you the Democrats would devote their full attention to this highly sensitive issue. This was an issue President Obama faced his entire time in office. My understanding is he produced a birth certificate showing his place of birth to be Hawaii. This needs to be addressed now.
