Angelique Casem
Spelling champ: Maternity BVM seventh-grader Angelique Casem won the recent Archbishop Ryan Spelling Bee. Angelique competed against 53 other students from area Catholic schools. She won in the 10th round by correctly spelling the word “hemorrhage.” For winning the spelling bee, she received a $2,000 per year scholarship to Archbishop Ryan. “I am extremely proud of the students that represented Maternity BVM in the spelling bee and congratulate them on all of their hard work, especially Angelique on her first place,” said Constance Flynn, Angelique’s teacher.
