Police and fire credit union robbed of $500

One sure-fire way to get yourself some attention is to steal money from police and firefighters. Indirectly, that’s precisely what an unidentified man did in Mayfair last Saturday.

At about 2:15 p.m., the man walked into the Philadelphia Police and Fire Credit Union branch at 7145 Frankford Ave. and reportedly walked out with about $500. But he wasn’t a member of the credit union. Rather, he used a demand note to prompt a teller to surrender the cash.

He was described as a white man, 35 to 40 years old, 6 feet tall with a medium build, clean-shaven with a blue bucket hat, green shirt and khaki pants. Call 215–418–4000 to report information. ••
