Police: No foul play in man’s falling death

Authorities do not believe that foul play was involved in the death of a Holmesburg man who was discovered unconscious in the backyard of his home on May 4.

Police did not disclose who discovered the body and called 911 at about 6:45 a.m. Officers went to the home on the 8100 block of Crispin St. and found the 52-year-old victim in the yard and bleeding from the head. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene at 6:54 a.m.

No one else was at the home at the time. Police went to the second floor rear bedroom and found an open window, along with a letter that appeared to have been written by the victim. There were no signs of a prior struggle or disturbance in the house. Police transported the victim to the Medical Examiner’s Office for an official determination of the manner and cause of death. ••
