Recycling bin giveaway at O’Neill’s office
Recycling bins will be given away on Saturday, June 11, from 9 a.m. to noon at the district office of City Councilman Brian O’Neill, at Bustleton Avenue and Bowler Street.
The bins will be registered for the Recycling Rewards program. Anyone unable to attend who wants a bin can call O’Neill’s office at 215–685–0432. ••
Holmesburg Civic talks green infrastructure
Philadelphia Water Department representatives will present plans for local green stormwater infrastructure improvements at the June 14 Holmesburg Civic Association meeting.
The meeting will take place at 7:15 p.m. at the Holmesburg Recreation Center (4500 Rhawn St.).
The presentation will cover Green City, Clean Waters projects planned for Rowland Avenue and Crispin Street, between Ryan Avenue and Rhawn Street.

Family Day planned for Sunday at Danubia
Ancient Order of Hibernian/Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians Division 17 will hold a Family Fun Day on Sunday, June 12, from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Danubia, 1277 Southampton Road.
The cost is $25 per person and $50 per family.
The day will include beer, soda, hamburgers, hot dogs, salads, horseshoes, wiffle ball, soccer games, a children’s tumbler, adult dunk tank and music by Ballina.

SPCA coming to Holmesburg Library
Holmesburg Library, 7810 Frankford Ave., will host a program on responsible pet ownership on Monday, June 20, at 4 p.m. Pennsylvania SPCA experts will help guests make fleece blankets and toys for adoptable pets. Some furry friends will be on site.
The SPCA welcomes donations of clean used towels or blankets, paper towels, grocery bags, newspapers, pet toys, leashes and dog and cat food.

Anniversary for Korean War group
The Pfc. Stanley A. Gogoj Chapter 38 of the Korean War Veterans Association will celebrate its 25th anniversary on Saturday, June 11, at 1 p.m. at the Elm Tree American Legion Post 88, 1414 E. Palmer St. in Fishtown. The public is invited.
Gogoj was a Port Richmond native who attended North Catholic High School. He was killed on June 30, 1950, five days after the start of the Korean War. He was the first man from Pennsylvania to die in the war. ••
Enjoy tea and food Sunday at PPH
The Philadelphia Protestant Home Auxiliary will host its second annual Victorian Tea Party on Sunday, June 12, from 2 to 4 p.m. The party will take place in the PPH social hall, 6500 Tabor Ave.
Tea sandwiches and delectables will be served. Guests are invited to wear their finest bonnet. Door prizes will be awarded. Entertainment will be provided by Michelle Schulman, accompanied by Alex Ramirez on the piano.
Songs of Hollywood films will be played.

St. Hubert party coming to Maggie’s
The St. Hubert Alumnae Association will sponsor “Bambies by the River” on Saturday, Aug. 6, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Maggie’s Waterfront Cafe, 9242 N. Delaware Ave.

Summer music festival is July 10
The Holocaust Awareness Museum and Education Center will hold its annual summer music festival on Sunday, July 10, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Congregation Keneseth Israel, located at 8339 Old York Road in Elkins Park.
Performers will be Rak-Dan, Ross M. Levy and the Bobby Block Klezmer Trio. There will be food for sale, vendor tables, raffles and books for sale written by survivors.
