Police Officers Matthew Nodiff and Anthony Manes have been named Officers of the Month in the 15th district. Capt. Anthony Luca, commander of the 15th, presented commemorative plaques to Nodiff and Manes on May 23.
Nodiff and Manes were selected for the award as a result of the numerous arrests they made during April involving a stolen car on the 1900 block of Harrison St. in Frankford, an aggravated assault on the 5200 block of Harbison Ave. in Frankford, a theft from a car on the 2900 block of Longshore Ave. in Mayfair and a robbery on the 1800 block of Fillmore St. in Frankford. As a result of the theft from auto arrest, the district saw a decline in the crime rate in Mayfair, Tacony and Holmesburg.
In addition, Nodiff arrested a second robbery suspect, as well as a man who was wanted for numerous burglaries in Montgomery and Bucks counties, as well as Philadelphia.
Sgt. William Schmid of the 15th district 5 Platoon nominated the officers for the award. ••
