Music Hall of Fame event at Cannstatter’s
The Philadelphia Music Hall of Fame will hold a cocktail party on Friday, June 24, from 7 to 11 p.m. at Cannstatter’s, 9130 Academy Road.
The evening will include live music and appearances by Bobby Rydell, Charlie Gracie, the Rip Chords, the Soul Survivors, the Tymes, Don Gardner and radio personalities Bob Charger and Ed Hurst. Tickets cost $75 and include open bar and hors d’oeuvres.

Sunshine Foundation event on Saturday
The Sunshine Foundation will hold its 14th annual RunWalkBark 4 Dreams on Saturday, June 18, at Tyler State Park in Richboro.
Registration starts at 8 a.m. The 5k run starts at 9 a.m., with the two-mile walk to follow.
Families, strollers, wheelchairs, dog walkers and people of all ages are encouraged to be a part of the walk.
The Sunshine Foundation answers the dreams of chronically ill, seriously ill, physically challenged and abused children ages 3–18, whose families cannot fulfill their requests due to financial strain that the child’s illness may cause. Call 215–396–4770. ••
Concerts at Glen Foerd kick off this week
Glen Foerd on the Delaware’s concert series kicks off on Thursday, June 16, at 7 p.m.
The first concert will feature Andrea Carlson and the Love Police.
At Glen Foerd’s July 14 concert, the audience will listen to the 1920s speakeasy sounds of the Red Hot Ramblers.
The Philadelphia Banjo Society will perform on Thursday, Aug. 18. Glen Foerd is at 5001 Grant Ave.
Concerts will be held in the estate’s outdoor event structure overlooking the Delaware River and will feature one-hour uninterrupted sets ending at 8 p.m.
Admission is pay what you wish. Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs and pack a picnic dinner. Concert-goers can also purchase treats from What’s For Dessert and The Dining Car. ••
Poet tour makes stop at Burholme shop
Diane Sahms-Guarnieri of Lawndale and G. Emil Reutter of Fox Chase will bring their 2016 poetry tour home to Burholme on June 22 at 7 p.m. at Chase’s Hop Shop.
The reading is free and open to the public, although seating will be limited. An open mic will follow readings by Sahms-Guarnieri and Reutter.
Copies of Night Sweat by Sahms-Guarnieri and From the Valley by Reutter will be available for purchase.

SPCA coming to Holmesburg Library
Holmesburg Library, 7810 Frankford Ave., will host a program on responsible pet ownership on Monday, June 20, at 4 p.m.
Pennsylvania SPCA experts will help guests make fleece blankets and toys for adoptable pets. Some furry friends will be on site.
The SPCA welcomes donations of clean used towels or blankets, paper towels, grocery bags, newspapers, pet toys, leashes and dog and cat food. ••

Fox 29 coming to Mayfair
Fox 29 will broadcast live from Frankford and Cottman avenues on Friday, June 17, from 7 to 10 a.m.
The public is invited to watch Fox 29 personalities Mike Jerrick, Alex Holley, Bob Kelly and Jenn Frederick, who’ll be set up in front of Republic Bank.
Zallie’s Shop-Rite, the Grey Lodge Pub, Pat’s Music, D&J Costumes and many other businesses will provide free samples to the crowd and chat with the news anchors on air.
Ryan Avenue will be closed between Frankford Avenue and Leon Street for the event.
