An unidentified man who wears socks on his hands and carries a knife has robbed a Wawa in Morrell Park twice in the last week, Philadelphia police say.
On Monday at about 10:42 p.m., the suspect entered the store at 10550 Knights Road, brandished a knife and demanded that the clerk, a 45-year-old man, open the cash register. The robber fled with an undisclosed amount of money and was last seen traveling eastbound on Knights toward Frankford Avenue.
On June 8, a man fitting a similar description approached a 22-year-old woman clerk in the same store, placed his hand on her back and demanded she open the register. He fled with an undisclosed amount of cash in an unknown direction.
The robber was described as white, 25 to 30 years old, about six feet tall, thin, with a gray or dark hoodie, black Nike pants, white socks on his hands and black Nike sneakers.
