Local residents were among those earning a doctor of physical therapy degree or a master degrees at the University of Scranton’s graduate commencement. They were Adam Glazer, who earned a Master of Arts degree with a major in theology; Laura M. Guarrieri, who earned a Master of Science degree with a major in occupational therapy; Dana E. Raciti, who earned a Master of Science degree with a major in rehabilitation counseling; and Jamie L. Shackles, who earned a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree with a major in physical therapy.

Local residents were among the more than 900 bachelor’s and associate degree recipients at the University of Scranton’s undergraduate commencement, which was held at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre. Sister Mary Scullion, an Oxford Circle native and president of Project HOME, served as principal speaker and received an honorary degree. Local graduates were Kirsten E. Banach, who earned a Bachelor of Science degree in counseling and human services; Alexis D. Kuhner, who earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration; and Julianne N. Mamrol, who earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in nursing.

Ryan Muldoon was one of nearly 700 Lebanon Valley College students named to the dean’s list for the spring semester. Dean’s list students must maintain a GPA of at least 3.4 out of 4.0. Muldoon, a graduate of Father Judge High School, recently received a bachelor of science in accounting.

Jessica Fein, a sophomore music therapy major, was named to the dean’s list at Elizabethtown College for the spring semester. Students on the dean’s list are full-time undergraduate students who earn a semester grade point average of 3.60 or better in 12 or more credits.

University of the Sciences recently held a bachelor’s degree conferment ceremony to recognize graduates who received a bachelor’s degree during the 2015–16 academic year. Local graduates were Parth Patel, who received a bachelor of science in health science and will continue on a path toward a doctor of physical therapy degree; Zayd Alsardary, who received a bachelor of science in health science-physician assistant studies magna cum laude and will continue on a path toward a master of science in physician assistant studies; Sherin Abu, an Alpha Lambda Delta honor society member who received a BS in pharmaceutical and healthcare studies cum laude and will continue on a path toward a doctor of pharmacy degree; Michael Forgione, who received a BS in pharmaceutical and healthcare studies and will continue on a path toward a doctor of pharmacy degree; Jeannie Nguyen, who received a BS in pharmaceutical and healthcare studies and will continues on a path toward a doctor of pharmacy degree; Michael West, who received a BS in pharmaceutical and healthcare studies and will continue on a path toward a doctor of pharmacy degree; Shifa Zachariah, who received a BS in pharmaceutical and healthcare studies magna cum laude and will continue on a path toward a doctor of pharmacy degree; and Swana Thomas, who received a BS in pharmaceutical and healthcare studies with a minor in humanities and will continue on a path toward a doctor of pharmacy and master of public health degree.
