The Rev. James A. Callahan, pastor of Christ the King Parish, said, “On behalf of the Christ the King Principal Search Committee, I am pleased to announce that Dr. Schweyer has been selected to join our parish community as principal of our school. Her Catholic values, credentials, vast experience as both teacher and school leader made her our top choice. We ask that the members of our parish community offer Dr. Schweyer their support and prayers as she prepares to accept her position as principal of Christ the King School. We are also grateful to Sister Trudy for her years of tireless service. We offer prayerful best wishes for her in retirement.”

Schweyer joins Christ the King with decades of experience in elementary and secondary education. Most recently, she taught religion, history and geography at the Regina Academy at Saint John the Baptist Parish in Ottsville, Bucks County.

Prior to her time at Saint John the Baptist, she spent 28 years in various teaching and administrative roles at Saint Basil Academy in Jenkintown.

Additionally, she taught a graduate course in Instructional Techniques for Secondary English at Saint Joseph’s University. She holds Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts and Doctor of Education degrees from Saint Joseph’s University. ••
