Foul play is not suspected in the death of an elderly man whose body was found near a soccer field in Somerton on Thursday, police say.
A man who was cutting grass near Southampton Road and Roosevelt Boulevard shortly after 2 p.m. discovered the victim on the ground near some woods and the Lighthouse Soccer Club field. He called 911.
Paramedics pronounced the 70-year-old dead at the scene. There was no evidence of traumatic injury. Police have not released the victim’s identity. ••
