The 15th Police District Officers of the Month for June are Sean Quinn, Xuong Tran and Joseph Oliver.
The officers were nominated by Lt. David Potter. They were working on bike patrol when they observed a male, later identified as 31-year-old Brian Horter, of the 5000 block of Jackson St., operating a dirt bike at Pratt and Jackson streets.
After approaching Horter and investigating, they placed him in handcuffs because they sensed he was going to flee. Next, they checked his background through local and national crime information centers, and learned he had a warrant from the Violent Gun Task Force.
Quinn and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives traveled to a wooded area in Bensalem, where they dug up an AK-47, a shotgun and a pipe bomb.
Horter was charged with criminal conspiracy, risking a catastrophe, possession of a weapon of mass destruction and violations of the Uniform Firearms Act. ••
