Olympic silver medalist boxer John Joe Nevin will make is Philadelphia professional debut on Friday, Aug. 26, headlining a 10-bout card at SugarHouse Casino, 1001 Delaware Ave.
Nevin competed for Ireland and won the silver in the bantamweight class at the 2012 London games. He also competed at the 2008 games in Beijing, where he advanced to the round of 16. He is 7–0 in his professional career with four wins by knockout.
The fights will be held inside the casino events center. Doors open at 6 p.m. The first bouts begins at 7. Tickets cost $40 and $65 and are available by calling 267–251–6100. ••
