Two armed men burst into a Wissinoming house and shot a 22-year-old man in the head on Aug. 17, Philadelphia police say.
It happened at about 5 p.m. on the 4800 block of Comly St. Officers went to the scene in response of a report of a person screaming. They found the victim on the living-room floor with a gunshot wound to his head. Police rushed the man to Aria-Jefferson Health’s Torresdale campus, where he was admitted in critical condition.
A police commander told reporters at the scene that the victim was at home with two brothers and his 63-year-old mother when the gunmen kicked in the front door and invaded the house. During a struggle, three shots were fired by the intruders, who ran away.
Police found a black gun in a Dumpster outside a nearby apartment building. A motive for the attack is not known.
One intruder was described as a black man, about 5 feet 9 inches tall with a white T-shirt and dark pants. The other one was described as black, in his mid-20s, with short hair and a blue T-shirt. ••
