A single, unidentified man is responsible for at least seven armed robberies of convenience stores and gas stations near Harbison and Torresdale avenues since Aug. 14, police say. Five of the hold-ups have occurred at the same 7-Eleven.
Most recently, the suspect struck three times on Monday, including twice at the 7-Eleven at 5231 HarbisonĀ Ave.
In each instance, the robber entered the business, approached an employee, flashed a handgun tucked in his waistband and demanded cash, as well as cigarettes. Police have not disclosed the dollar value of the crimes. No injuries were reported.
On Aug. 14, the man targeted the 7-Eleven at 5231 Harbison at 1:13 a.m., as well as the Exxon station at 5250 Torresdale Ave. at 8:58 p.m. He struck at the same 7-Eleven on Aug. 17 at 12:30 a.m., and on Aug. 21 at 2:42 a.m. The Aug. 22 incidents occurred at the same 7-Eleven at 12:30 a.m. and 10 p.m., as well as the Wawa at 6001 Harbison Ave. at 11:52 p.m. Visit the Philadelphia Police channel on YouTube.com to view surveillance video of the suspect.
