A man with a threatening demand note robbed a bank in Upper Holmesburg last Thursday before fleeing, but surveillance cameras photographed him in the act. At about 11 a.m., the bandit entered the Republic Bank at 8764 Frankford Ave. and showed a demand note to a teller, police said. The teller surrendered an undisclosed amount of cash.

The robber fled on foot northbound on Frankford Avenue. He was described as black, in his mid-20s, about 6-feet-3, thin, with shoulder-length dreadlocks, a dark long-sleeve shirt, dark tan pants and a white baseball cap with unknown lettering.
