Teens wanted for beating man to death outside beer distributor
Police are searching for three teenagers who were involved in the unprovoked fatal beating of a man outside a Crescentville beer distributorship late Friday afternoon. CBS Philly broadcast surveillance video of the assault, which occurred shortly before 6 p.m. at Adams Beer Distributor on the 700 block of Adams Ave. The footage shows the three young men approaching the victim, who was standing next to an exterior wall of the business. It’s unknown if words were exchanged, but one of the suspects suddenly lunged toward the victim and punched him in the face.
The victim, who appeared to be a Hispanic man in his late 20s or early 30s, staggered a few steps before falling to the ground, striking his head on the pavement. He was knocked unconscious. Paramedics rushed him to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he was admitted in critical condition with undisclosed injuries. He died on Saturday, a police source said. Authorities have not disclosed his identity.
All three suspects ran westbound from the rear of Adams Avenue properties, said Chief Inspector Scott Small, who attended the crime scene. The assailants were described as black males between 16 and 20 years old. The puncher wore a white T-shirt, white shorts, white socks and white sneakers. A second suspect wore a yellow T-shirt and blue jeans, while the third wore a gray T-shirt and blue jeans. ••
