Joel D. Goldberg, a Bustleton resident and sophomore at the University of Pennsylvania, recently received the Herman Witte Scholarship from the Pennsylvania Masonic Youth Foundation.
Goldberg, a 2015 George Washington graduate who is studying biology and chemistry, was awarded $1,000.
The Foundation presented 61 scholarships to young people with a Masonic relative or who are members of a Masonic-sponsored youth group. Goldberg was eligible because his father, Louis, was a member of Shekinah Lodge №246 at the time of his passing.
