He was among 61 employees and friends of Euro Brokers who died that day. Donations to the Peter K. Ortale Scholarship Fund can be sent to William Penn Charter School, 3000 W. Schoolhouse Lane, Philadelphia, PA 19144.

The annual Alisha C. Levin Run to Remember will take place on Saturday, Sept. 17, at Northeast High School.

Levin, who grew up on the 1300 block of Wells St. in Castor Gardens, was killed in the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. She was 33. Levin was a 1986 graduate of Northeast. She later graduated from Hofstra University. She worked for three years for Fuji Bank in the World Trade Center’s South Tower.

On the day of the attacks, terrorists first crashed an airplane into the North Tower. Seventeen minutes later, a plane struck the South Tower.

On Saturday, registration for the 5K walk/run will begin at 9 a.m. The run/walk will start at 10. The cost is $25.

Awards and trophies will be given out at 11. Northeast is at 1601 Cottman Ave.
