Police Officer John Crichton was recognized as Officer of the Month in the 2nd district for August during a recent meeting of the 2nd Police District Advisory Council.

In a letter nominating Crichton for the honor, Sgt. Michael Weber stated that the officer made 10 arrests during the month for various major crimes including robbery, burglary, weapons violations, thefts from auto and drunk driving. He also arrested suspects for fleeing prosecution or failing to appear in court. Crichton made these arrests while maintaining his regular patrol duties.

Capt. Thomas McLean, commander of the 2nd district, approved Crichton for the award. ••
