Police Officers Robert Bakos and John Lee had a busy month in the 15th district.

The partners made at least six arrests for felony crimes and captured several other wanted fugitives. As a result, Bakos and Lee each earned the 15th district’s Officer of the Month Award for September.

Bakos and Lee cleared two burglary investigations, a robbery, two aggravated assaults and a weapons violation. One of the burglary investigations involved two suspects who committed a series of break-ins throughout the district. As a result of those arrests, police recovered hundreds of pieces of stolen jewelry, which indicates that more break-ins may be linked to the same culprits.

Both of the aggravated assault arrests involved guns, as did the weapons violation arrest.

Lt. Edward Bier recommended Bakos and Lee for the Officer of the Month Award. Capt. Anthony Luca approved the nomination. ••
