A man holding a knife in each hand didn’t quite carry out the robbery he expected at a Bridesburg convenience store last month.
Although he didn’t get away with any cash, he did carry off some cigarettes and lottery tickets, police say.
It happened on Sept. 18 at about 6:30 a.m. at 7-eleven, 2634 Bridge St. The masked, hooded bandit approached an employee and demanded the contents of a cash register. The cashier told the robber that the register was locked shut and couldn’t be opened until a sale was made. So the robber demanded smokes and lottery tickets.
He fled with one pack and three scratch-offs and was last seen southbound on the 4800 block of Thompson St.
The robber was described as white, 50 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a medium build, a black mask, a gray hoodie containing a Flyers logo and “1967,” black gloves and black pants.
